FRUIT PUREE PASTILA
Sweets don't always have to be sweet or high in calories. An excellent example is a handmade Pastila (a traditional Russian fruit confectionery). This is a treat for everyone – for health-conscious moms, snack-loving dads, and sweet tooth kids.
Baby puree allows for a natural base and saves your valuable time, making the process easy and enjoyable.
Ingredients:
Peek-A-Boo Organic Apple Banana Strawberry puree
2 packs
Sweetening syrup
of your choice
Nuts, chocolate, or any other additions
of your choice
Powdered sugar for decoration
PREPARATION INSTRUCTIONS:
- Put the puree in a saucepan and add sugar. Depending on desired consistency, the cooking time can be adjusted: a fairly thick solution should be heated for 3 minutes until the sugar is completely dissolved, while thinner solutions should heat until slightly thick
- Next, prepare a place to dry your future Pastila. Cover a pan or grate with wax paper and grease it with a thin layer of vegetable oil. Pour your solution from the saucepan into the pan or grate.
- Put the dessert in the oven. The oven should be preheated to 80-90 degrees Celsius. Heat the Pastila on a top rack in the oven with the door ajar for 3-4 hours, checking consistency periodically.
- As soon as your Pastila no longer sticks to your hands, you can take it out. It is important not to overheat the Pastila, which makes it rubbery.
- Your sweet can then be sprinkled with powdered sugar and you can give it your desired shape: cut into cubes, twist into a tube, etc.
